Levi Cadle and Akeem HarrisTwo men were arraigned in the Belize City Magistrate on a drug trafficking charge on Tuesday October 4th after they were allegedly caught in possession of 1,807 grams of marijuana.


22-year-old Akeem Harris, a resident of #88 Euphrates Avenue along with his friend, 31-year-old Levi Cadle were jointly charged in Court #5 on a single charge of drug trafficking.

Allegations are that on Monday, October 3rd, they had in their possession 1,807 grams of cannabis.  This amount is equivalent to over 3 pounds of weed.

In court, the duo was unrepresented and they both pleaded not guilty to the charge.  They were offered bail in the sum of $5,000 each plus one surety of the same amount. Both Harris and Cadle are due back in Court #5 on November 25th.

There is a minimum sentence of 3 years with a fine of $10,000 on drug trafficking convictions. If the person has been convicted before he can be sentenced to jail for 3 years and be imposed a fine unlike a person who is a first time offender that may just be imposed a fine.
