Women brawl lands them in court Print E-mail

A fight broke out whilst three women were socializing in a car on Sunday October 10th and on Wednesday October 12th they appeared in Magistrate’s Court to answer to charges.


Pamela Gibson,a resident of #31 Lord’s Bank, Ladyville area, 24-year-old Kimberly Gibson, a self employed of Guerrero Street in Belize City, along with 20-year-old Domestic, Esther Camal all appeared before Magistrate Edd. P. Usher in Court #2 where the Gibsons who are sisters were charged jointly with wounding Camal. Kimberly was additionally charged with a second count of wounding upon Camal.

Camal, who it appears got a beating from the sisters on the day of the incident, was seen with a black and blue right eye and a swollen face.  She too appeared in Court #2 where she was charged with four counts- one count of aggravated assault with a knife upon Kimberly Gibson, one count of damage to property for allegedly causing damages to a wooden door valued at $150.00 property of Kimberly Gibson, and two counts of wounding upon both sisters, Pamela and Kimberly. In court, the three women were unrepresented and all pleaded not guilty to the charges.

When asked what was the position on bail for the women, Prosecutor Sgt. Hector Rodriguez said that while he was not objecting to bail being offered to the women, he asked the court to please set some conditions so that they don’t interfere with one another.

The Gibson sisters were granted bail in the sum of $1,000 each while Camal was granted bail in the sum of $2,000 plus one surety of the same amount which they all met. The case of the women was adjourned for November 29.
The Gibson sisters were ordered not to interfere with the alleged victim, Camal while the same conditions were ordered that Camal avoid any contact with the sisters.If any of them were to breach their bail conditions, they were told that their bail would be revoked and they would be remanded to the Hattieville Prison.

On Sunday the three women were inside a vehicle when an argument started between Pamela Gibson and Esther Camal. During the argument it is alleged that Pamela hit Camal on the head and on impulse Camal slapped her in the face. That’s when Kimberly Gibson, intervened and the three women began to fight. During the struggle it is alleged that Kimberly punched Esther to her right eye bruising it. After that  fight, the women visited the Queen Street Police Station where the Gibsons made a report against Esther while Esther Camal did the same against the sisters.

The fight did not end there however as on October 11th, even after they had already had the intervention of the police, according to Kimberly Gibson, Camal visited her home at about 8:45 a.m. During the visit Kimberley reported to police that Camal was armed with a knife. She stormed into Gibson’s home and attacked her.

According to Kimberly, Camal made a stabbing motion at her but missed. Camal allegedly continued the aggression by throwing a pint bottle at her which broke and the two began to struggle inside the house. During the struggle, a wooden louver window inside Kimberly’s home was broken.

Medical legal forms showed that Kimberly was seen with injuries to her elbow, left leg and small cuts to the abdomen while Pamela sustained injuries to her face.
