Irvin ConnerOn Tuesday, October 18th, 2011, 22-year-old Irvin Ashante Conner, a cruise ship tourist of  U.S. Virgin Islands, was busted with 1.2 grams of weed inside the Tourist Village.

At 3 pm. On Tuesday afternoon Conner was escorted to the Belize City Magistrate’s Court where he appeared before Magistrate Roberto Ordonez to answer to a charge of drug possession. He pled guilty to the offense and was fined $250 plus $5.00 cost of court which he was ordered to pay immediately or spend 2 months in prison. Conner told the court that he had the money to pay but could not come up with the cash at the ATM.

A desperate and worried Conner visited Monica’s Pawn Shop and pawned out his silver chain valued at almost $1,000 for $260. He then paid the court $255 and rushed out of the building into a taxi to try and make it on time to the village for boarding. We understand that 30 minutes prior to making his payment, a call had come in from the ship inquiring about Conner’s whereabouts and he was told that the ship was leaving Belize and he would have to find his way back home.
