Marlon HarrisA Belize City carpenter was remanded to the Belize Central Prison after he was accused of pulling a gun at another person.

32-year-old Marlon Harris, a resident of #138 Vernon Street, was arrested by police and appeared in the Magistrates Court before Chief Magistrate Ann Marie Smith. Harris was unrepresented when he answered to a single charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon upon Jolene Petillo.  He pleaded not guilty to the charge but due to the nature of the offense bail was denied and he was remanded to the Hattieville Prison until November 17th.

The alleged incident occurred on Saturday, October 15, on Lacroix Street which is located behind the complex building in the Saint Martin de Pores area. According to Jolene Petillo, Harris whom he knows as “Lippo” pulled out a handgun and pointed it in his face. Fearing for his life he went to report the matter to police.

Earlier this year, Harris walked from a charged of rape in which he allegedly raped a minor several years ago. He was charge with two other males in connection with the crime but they all walked when the minor refuse to show up at court to testify against them.
