Belize saw them give an outstanding performance in the 2011 National Math Olympiad championship round, but Romel Rudon and Aaron Stock not only helped Saint John’s College win this year’s Math Olympiad, they are also the best performing students in Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) exams this year also.

Both Rudon and Stock took 15 exams and both received 14 grade ones and one grade two. Rudon has been named 1st place because he received marks of distinction in 11 of the exams, while Stock received marks of distinction in 10.

Both Rudon and Stock are currently studying sciences at Saint John’s College Junior College, and they have spoken to media saying that they wish to further their education and pursue aeronautical engineering.
In relation to the actual preparation, both young men said that the school-based assessment (SBA) was the most difficult part of preparing for the 15 CSEC exams because they had to do extra work, especially in topics such as the sciences, social studies, and geography.

On the topic of the only grade two that they received, both young men described the Caribbean History exam as the most difficult one they took.
Both Rudon and Stock were aiming for 15 grade ones as was done by DorienVillafranco last year, but they said that they are happy with the result.
