MeshackOn October 26th Leon Hinds was stabbed to the right lung, the upper part of his neck and the lower middle part of his chest while he was in the area of 88 shopping center of Central American Boulevard.  As a result of the stabbing incident police arrested and charged 19-year-old Meshack Dwayne Flores with the attempted murder of Leon Hinds.

On Monday November 7th, Hinds who is in slow recovery painfully made his way to court in an attempt to withdraw the matter against Flores who is his stepson.  He was informed however that he had to visit the DPP’s office and make the request there in writing. He then left the court and as he did his stepson appeared before Chief Magistrate , Anne Marie Smith where he was read three charges- one count of attempted murder, dangerous harm and use of deadly means of harm. Due to the matters being dealt with as indictable crimes, no plea was taken.   Flores who was unrepresented was informed of his rights to appeal in the Supreme Court for bail.  Due to the nature of the crimes, he was remanded to the Belize Central Prison until December 7th.
