BTL’sThe 10th Annual Belize City Interoffice Softball Competition will come to an end on Friday February 3, 2012 at Rogers Stadium with the championship game between Education the number one seed and Telemedia the number four seed.


The Page System playoffs commenced on Friday January 27, with two games on the schedule, in semi-final game one, Telemedia the number four seed eliminated Police the number three seed by the score of 13-3.

Telemedia scored 2 runs in the top of the 1st inning, 5 in the 2nd, and 6 more runs in the 3rd inning for the win. Telemedia’s offence was keyed by shortstop Omar Gordon’s solo blast in the top of the 1st inning and catcher Luis Alpuche’s two run triple in the top of the 3rd inning.

Telemedia pounded the pitching of Leonora Morales for 13 hits.

Meanwhile, Police scored all of its runs in the bottom of the 2nd inning.

The winning pitcher was Francis Usher and the losing pitcher was Leonora Morales.

In semi-finals game two, Education, the number one seed ,defeated Kit Kat Baaba Shap the number two seed by the score of 12-2 to advance to the Grand Finals. Education scored 6 runs in the top of the 2nd inning, 2 in the 3rd inning and 4 more in the 4th inning for the win.

Education collected a total of 10 hits off Kit Kat Baaba Shap’s starter and loser Jumoko Castro.

Kit Kat Baaba Shap scored 2 runs on 5 hits.

The winning pitcher was Joel Wade and the losing pitcher was Jumoko Castro.

The Page System playoff continued on Monday January 30, 2012 with the final game being played between Kit Kat Baaba Shap and Telemedia in which Telemedia eliminated Kit Kat Baaba Shap by the score of 10-3 in six innings.

Kit Kat Baaba Shap got on the scoreboard first when it scored 3 runs in the top of the 2nd inning for an early lead in the game. However, in the bottom of the 3rd inning the curtain came tumbling down for Kit Kat Baaba Shap when Telemedia scored 2 runs.

In the bottom of the 4th inning, Telemedia scored 6 more runs for a commanding lead and in the 6th inning scored the final 2 runs for the victory. Telemedia collected 10 runs off the combined pitching of Jumoko Castro and Shantel Flowers.

The winning pitcher was Francis Usher and the losing pitcher was Shantel Flowers.
