Three students and an office assistant appeared in Magistrate’s Court on Friday March 9th to answer to charges of harm upon a Belize City resident after he accused them of beating him up whilst at BTL Park in Belize City. The men, 21-year-old Reginald Rodriguez, 21-year-old Dennis Burke, 20-year-old Albert Leslie and 22-year-old Francisco Rosales appeared before the Chief Magistrate, Anne Marie Smith where they were read a single charge of harm upon 27-year-old Ian Jones. The incident occurred on Saturday, March 3, at the BTL Park.

In court, the group of four pleaded not guilty to the charge. Bail was offered to them in the sum of $500 cash each and the matter was adjourned to April 10th.

In a report to police, Ian Jones said that on Saturday, March 3, at about 3:00 a.m., he and his common-law-wife were walking towards their vehicle at the BTL Park when the four men attacked him and beat him up.  According to Jones, he sustained injuries to his forehead and back of the head as a result.  However, in court the police had no medical legal form attached to the charge sheet in the matter against the men.
