Woman claims Ex-boyfriend tried to Kidnap her Print E-mail

Taxi-driver, 41-year-old Willward Pinto of #18 Rivero Street appeared in Magistrate's Court on Wednesday May 16th where he was charged with aggravated assault and wounding upon his ex-girlfriend, Rhea Pennil. He was offered and met bail in the sum of $5,000.


Pinto appeared in court after Pennil claimed that she was almost kidnapped by Pinto. Pinto appeared before Magistrate Sherigne Rodriguez where he was charged with aggravated assault with a dangerous instrument upon,  Pennill.  He was also charged with wounding. Pinto pleaded not guilty to the charges but the court prosecutor asked that he stay away from Pennil, her relatives or the prosecution's witness. If he violates these conditions, bail will be revoked.  He is scheduled to reappear in court on June 20th. 

 In a report to police, Rhea Pennill told police that Pinto was taking her up the highway when she jumped out of his moving vehicle and manage to escape.  As a result of her jumping out of the moving vehicle, she sustained injuries to her body which a doctor classified as wounding.  According to Pennill, after jumping out of the moving vehicle, she got assistance from a concern citizen in the area, who called the police for help and she was taken to the KHMH for treatment. No details had been release yet by the police as to where she alleged her abductor grabbed her from that day.
