BDF officers share information with studentsOn Tuesday, May 15, representatives of government departments in Belize City gathered at the Charles Bartlett Hyde Building to meet with members of the public and share information on their inside operations.

The event was part of the Belize Public Service Information Day initiative. International Public Service Day is June 23 and will be celebrated under the theme: “As Agents of Change – Public Officers Build, Transform, Create, and Deliver Quality Service”. In celebration of International Public Service Day, there will be information days in different municipalities of Belize during the months of May and June.

Numerous government departments set up booths in Belize City on Tuesday. Presenters included the General Sales Tax, Income Tax department, Electionas and Boundaries, Immigration and the Customs and Excise Departments, Bureau of Standards, Department of Human Services, the Post Office Department, Belize Meteorological Service, the Belize National Library Service, Judiciary offices, Belize Coast Guard, Belize Defense Force, Belize Police Department, Belize Emergency Response Team and Youth for the Future. Various departments of the Belize City Council were also represented.

Public service departments in the Orange Walk District held their information day on Monday, May 14. Dangriga is holding theirs on Wednesday, May 16. Public information day events will be held at the Governor General Field in Belmopan and in the Central Park in Punta Gorda on Wednesday, May 30. The final public information day will be held at the Central Park in Corozal Town on June 20.
