Interoffice Basketball enters Semi-final Round Print E-mail

Rheton Belisle scored 12 pointsThe 2012 Interoffice Basketball League competition is nearing its completion. On Sunday July 1, the Quarter-final round of the competition was played at the Bird’s Isle in Belize City. In the first game of the four games afternoon, Tuff “E” Nuff eliminated Belize Telemedia by the score of 61-54. The top scorers for Tuff “E” Nuff were Jamal Kelly with 16 points, 4 assists and 2 steals, while the top scorers for Belize Telemedia were Lennox Cayetano with 13 points, 11 rebounds, and 3 steals and Lupito Acosta with 11 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 steal.

In game two, Alamilla’s/MOE eliminated the Police by the score of 78-56. The top scorers for Alamilla’s/MOE were Gregory Rudon with 15 points, 2 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals, Rheton Belisle with 12 points, 2 rebounds, 3 assists and a steal, and Carlile Barrow  with 12 points, and 5 rebounds.

Meanwhile, the top scorers for the Police were Eckroy Yorke with 15 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists and 1 steal, and Earl Johnson with 14 points, and 5 rebounds.

In the third game of the evening, CYDP eliminated Youth for the Future by the score of 57-41. The top scorers for CYDP were Marcel Orosco with 14 points, 11 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals, Winston Pratt also with 14 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists, and Lennox Bowman with 10 points, and 2 rebounds.

For Youth for the Future, the top scorers were Brian White with 14 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals, Kenroy Usher with 8 points and Jamir Enriquez also with 8 points.

In the fourth and final game of the day, Quan’s Trading/Kephawn eliminated Maria Chang by the score of 71-65. The top scorers for Quan’s Trading/Kephawn were Kashief Thomas with 24 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists, and Jacob Leslie with 19 points, and 2 rebounds.

For Maria Chang, the top scorers were Andrew Staine with 15 points, 3 rebounds, and 3 steals, and Ronald Rivers with 14 points, and 5 rebounds.

The playoffs will continue with the semi-final round commencing on Thursday July 5, 2012, at 7:30 pm with two games on the schedule. In game one, CYDP will go up against Alamillas/MOE, and in game two, it will be Tuff “E” Nuff against Quan’s Trading/Kephawn.
