Ricardo BlancoWhen a missing Orange Walk resident, Ricardo Blanco, 35, a construction worker, did not return home from work on Thursday, August 2nd, his family feared the worst. Their worst fear was confirmed two days later, on Saturday, August 4th, when they found him dead on a feeder road some miles out of Trial Farm Village.

Blanco was found nude and covered in grass with the elastic band from his underwear tied around his neck. He had notable scratch marks on his backs as if he had been dragged.

Blanco’s stepfather, Arculano Navaro had filed a missing report at the Orange Walk Police Station, where he had stated that Blanco had left his Otro Benque home on August 2nd, at around 7:00 a.m., for work but had not returned.

Prior to the discovery of his body, police learned that at around 10:00 p.m. on the same date that Blanco had left home, he had been involved in a fight in Trail Farm, with a group of three men.

The fight took place in front Diamonds Store that is located on the Northern Highway.

The family wasted no time and launched a search in various parts of the river side but were unsuccessful.

The family observed a naked and badly beaten Blanco with a piece of underwear tied around his neck.

The family is saddened over Blanco’s death, whom they described as a family man. He now leaves behind his four children and wife.
