Volunteer batallion shows off their skills  and Hon. John Saldivar visits campOn Friday, August 10th, 2012, Minister of National Security, Hon. John Saldivar visited over 300 troops taking part in the annual BDF Camp conducted at Boston Camp located at Baldy Beacon, Mountain Pine Ridge.

Minister Saldivar thanked the men and women of the volunteer Battalion for attending the camp and improving their skills to better serve their country. He encouraged them to continue doing their best in being a positive influence to the nation in these trying times. He gave his commitment and that of the Government to do as much as possible to support them.  
Minister Saldivar spent over two hours with the troops, witnessing a demonstration of a platoon attack with live rounds, and later sharing with them a nutritious Belizean meal of soup and white rice.       
The camp took place this year from August 4th to 12th, 2012. It featured, among other activities, practice in conventional warfare. A major highlight was the passing out of recruit Intake 34, who have been in training since October 2011. This intake is 106 members strong.
