Fort George and Dangriga has New Committees Print E-mail

Dangriga new Executive CommitteeOn  Friday, October 19th, the Fort George Division held its meeting to elect its new executive committee.


Welcoming and addressing the gathering was former UDP, Area Representative, Hon. Dean Lindo. He impressed on the new executive to work close together with the caretaker and to continue to do the good work of the party. He stressed the need for organization and preparedness for elections for whenever they are called.

Caretaker, Roger  Espejo, thanked the members of  Fort George for coming out to support the UDP and committed to work hand in hand with them for the division and its people to grow. He explained that the divison plays a role in the city’s development plans.

Hon. Patrick Faber, the Party Chairman, spoke about the role of the executive, to be vibrant to be watchful and supportive of the UDP in the division, and work along with the caretaker. He spoke about the success of the UDP in Government and all the good work that has been done in development in the city and in the country. He also pointed out that we should hold our heads high and be proud to be UDP’s and proclaim it, so that everyone knows the good works of our Beloved Party in Government.

He also spoke about the magnificent job that our Prime Minister the Hon. Dean Barrow has done for and is continuing to do for our country and people. He then asked everyone to work together and wished everyone all the best.

Roosevelt Blades, Vice Chairman of the party, then swore in the new Executive committee members of the Fort George Division. Sharon Popper was elected to serve as the chairman. Members include: Yolanda Sedasey, Cherrymae Pascascio, Thaudrick Myvett, Gregory Reneau, Gilda Williams, Azarene Flowers, Aubrey Garbutt, Alice Hernandez, Percy Murillo, Rhona Martinez, Tricia Cruz, Jermaine Twist, James McFoy and Souad Lindo.

After the swearing in, the meeting was addressed by the Mayor of Belize City, Darrell Bradley, who promised to continue working for Belize City and for the Fort George area and thanked them for participating in the event of the UDP Party.

Also present was the National Party Coordinator, Ruben Campos.

On Sunday, October 21st, the Secretariat was at the Dangriga Helpage building where the UDPS’ of Dangriga met to elect their new Executive committee.

The caretaker, Frank “Papa” Mena welcomed everyone and said, that as the new caretaker, he is taking his role very serious and that the work for the return for a UDP Representative for Dandriga has begun. He mentioned that as caretaker, he will work to ensure that all party supporters are given the opportunity to voice their opinion and listen to those with experience and those with new ideas to ensure that a new UDP Dandriga is put in place.

Hon. Patrick Faber, Party Chairman, addressed the gathering thanking them for coming out in numbers, even when the weather was not too bright. He talked about the role and responsibilities of the executive, that they are the official guards of the party and together with the caretaker, they must look after the needs of the supporters. He encouraged them to organize themselves, to be proud members of the UDP and start the plan for a UDP victory once again.

To the supporters, he told them to be proud UDP’s and wherever they go to be proud and hold their heads high for the good work that the UDP Government is doing for country, including Dangriga.

He spoke of the good work that the Hon. Dean Barrow, our great Party leader and Prime Minster is doing for our Country.

The Vice-Chairman, Roosevelt Blades, then proceeded to swear in the new Executive Committee.

Also present was the National Party Coordinator, Ruben Campos.

Elected were Chairperson: Tony Noralez and members: Grace Fairweather, Alden Chavez, Aura Usher, Earth Lopez, Ruth Mena, Elroy Wade, Katarino Ramirez, John Castillo, Aaron ‘Jake” Gongora, Danny Mendez, Corrine Castillo, Clifford “Boss P” Peters, Mose Lopez, Tony Barillas and alternates: Hubert Usher, Sr.,  Alma Allen, Jason Williams, Francis Humphreys, and Cornelius Cayetano.

On Saturday, October 27th the Cayo North division will elect it’s new executive. Then on Sunday, October 28th, the Cayo South division will elect its new executive.
