The Ride Across Belize started on October 24th, 12 in Corozal Town, with seventy registered cyclists; making a stop in Orange Walk Town and ending in Belize City with over a hundred riders. Coming along with the riders were representatives from both recipient organizations. The group of riders arrived in Santa Elena Town, Cayo on Friday, October 26th. The following day the riders diverted to Placencia, promising that next year their final destination will be in Punta Gorda.

Contributions for the Ride Across Belize can still be made at Scotiabank, with the account number 1936202, by referring to Ride Across Belize under that account. That account will remain active until November 15th and for every dollar donated, there will be a matching fund-- to twenty-five thousand dollars.

Principal organizer for Ride Across Belize 2012, Chandra Cansino, says she would like to thank all who have contributed to the great cause thus far. Social Security continues to raise funds to spread awareness for charities, Non-Governmental Organizations and pressure groups, and at the same time promoting healthy lifestyles says Cansino.
