Remanded to Prison on Charge of Carnal Knowledge of 13-year-old Print E-mail

Herman WilliamsOn Thursday, November 1st, 36-year-old Herman Williams, a construction worker of #9522 Faber’s Road in Belize City appeared before Chief Magistrate, Anne Marie Smith where, he was read a single charge of unlawful carnal knowledge of a child age 13 years 9 months old.

No plea was taken since the matter is an indictable offense and he was denied bail and remanded to the Belize Central Prison.

Allegations being made against Williams are that sometime in the month of July 2012, he had sexual intercourse with the child. The incident occurred at a home where Williams was working as a construction worker.

The child visited the police on October 31st in the company of her grandmother. She told police that sometime in July, Williams approached her and asked her to have sex with him. The child agreed and claimed that’s when Williams had sexual intercourse with her. A medical examination was conducted on the minor and a doctor has certified that she was carnally known.

Herman Williams is due back in Court #1 on December 6th.
