The objectives of the ‘Purple Movement’ is to engage youths so that their voice can advocate positive change through education and community involvement to bring about unity, love, peace, justice and growth. According to the group’s President Carmita Lemus, they have so far had audiences with the Hon. Elvin Penner, Representative for the Cayo North East and members of the San Ignacio and Santa Elena Town Council.

Spokesperson Catherine Garnett says that the Purple Movement is an anti-crime movement and their rally and parade this past Saturday was directed to recruit more members.
