Karim Peters and Juan RubioDangriga police have arrested and charged Juan Rubio in connection with the stabbing death of 25-year-old Karim Peters of a Pomona New Site address, some 11 miles outside of Dangriga. Police report that at about 8:48 p.m. on Sunday, November 18th, Peters was riding his bicycle to go home when he intervened in a dispute between brothers Nigel and Juan Rubio.

While he was intervening, Juan allegedly lunged at Peters with a knife and stabbed him to the left side of the chest.

He was rushed to the Southern Regional Hospital but died before he reached for medical attention.

34-year-old Juan Rubio, of a New Site Area address in Pomona Valley, Stann Creek District appeared in Belize City Magistrate's Court on Wednesday, November 21st, where he was arraigned before Magistrate Sherigne Rodriguez on charges of murder.

Bail was denied and he was remanded to the Hattieville Prison until January 23rd, 2013 when he will appear in Dangriga Magistrate's Court.
