December 10th 2012
The Rotary Club of Belmopan, in collaboration with the Illinois Rotary District 6510 and World Peace Partners, announces its annual Orthopedic Clinic for the Belize Children’s Project with Orthopedic Surgeon Dr. Coles L’Hommedieu from St. Louis, Missouri.

The Belize Children’s Project is an ongoing collaboration with Rotary Clubs in Southern Illinois and Shriner’s Hospital for Children in St. Louis to help children throughout Belize suffering from bone abnormalities such as curvature of the spine, shortness in one leg, difficulty walking, club foot, etc.

Since 1972, periodic clinics have been held countrywide to assess new children brought in and revisit children currently in the program. Once a child has been accepted into the program, his or her progress will be monitored until 18 years of age.
