The National Secondary Schools Sports Association Basketball Championships will be played this coming weekend at the Independence High School on Friday and Saturday, December 14th - 15th, 2012.

The schools that are participating in this year’s competition are the defending champions in both the female and male categories from Central Region St. Catherine Academy (female) and Sadie Vernon Technical High School (male). From the Northern Region, New Hope High School (female) and San Pedro High School (male), from the Southern Region Delille Academy (female) and Stann Creek Ecumenical High School (male) and from the Western Region, Belmopan Comprehensive High School’s male and female teams.

The competition will commence on Friday, December 14th, 2012 with four games on the schedule. In the first female game, St. Catherine Academy will go up against Belmopan Comprehensive High School. In female game two, it will be New Hope High School against Delille Academy. In the first male game also on Friday, it will be Sadie Vernon Technical High School against Belmopan Comprehensive High School and in the second male game, it will be San Pedro High School against Stann Creek Ecumenical High School.

The championship will then continue on Saturday, December 15th with the consolation and championship games.
