St. John’s College leads in High School football Print E-mail

The Central Region Secondary School’s Football Competition opened on Thursday, January 10th, 2013 with 2 games on the schedule at the MCC Grounds.

In the first of two male games played, Ladyville Technical High School defeated Nazarene High School by the score of 5-1. The goal scorers for Ladyville Technical High School were Jervis Myvett, Leon Sedacy, Michael Herrera, Gustavo Salazar and Devaun Rhaburn. Meanwhile, the only goal of the game for Nazarene High School was scored by Eric Lamb.

In the second game of the day, St. John’s College blasted Sadie Vernon Technical High School by the score of 15-0. The goal scorers for SJC were   Deandre Pitter (4), Sydney Bradley (3), Harold Nava (2), Demitri Fabro (2), Tarique James, Trevaun Rhaburn, Dennis Zuniga and Raheem Flowers, with one each.

The competition then continued on Friday, January 11th with two more games on the schedule. In the female game, St. Catherine Academy and Ladyville Technical played to a 1-1 draw. The goal for St. Catherine Academy was scored by Deidra Gill while the goal for Ladyville Technical was scored by Shanesse Rhaburn.

In the male game played, Excelsior High School defeated Wesley College by the score of 5-1. The goal scorers for Excelsior High School were Kareem Flowers, James Fitzgibbon, Tyrone Gabriel, Jovan Clare and Stephan Diego. The only goal of the game for Wesley College was scored by Gemel Crawford.

On Monday, January 14th, in the female game played, Wesley College blanked Anglican Cathedral College by the score of 1-0. Shanice Neal scored the only goal of the game.

In the male game, St. John’s College continued on its winning path when it blanked Nazarene High School by the score of 5-0. The goals for St. John’s College were scored by Tarique James (2), Raheem Flowers (2) and Harold Nava, with one.

The competition continued on Tuesday, January 15th, with two more games. In the first male game played, Anglican Cathedral College won over Sadie Vernon Technical High School via forfeiture. And in game two, Wesley College defeated Ladyville Technical High School by the score of 3-1. The goal scorers for Wesley College were Khambrel Blease, Godwin Neal and Keeron Young, while the goal scorer for Ladyville Technical was Devaun Rhaburn.
