MajdiPolice are investigating the shooting death of 50-year-old Lebanese national Majdi Khodr Agha who was killed on Tuesday January 22nd.

Police report that at around 8:50 a.m. they responded to Agha’s house, located on Keating Crescent in the Button Wood Bay area of Belize City where they found his corpse in a drain near his gate. He received 3 gunshots to the body and one to the head. Reports indicate that Agha had just returned home from dropping off his daughter to school and was in the process of opening the gate to his yard when he was a attacked by a lone gunman who wore a mask.

After shooting Agha the gunman ran off and boarded a vehicle that was parked nearby and it sped off.

It is notable that Agha is the third Lebanese man to be killed in Belize City in as many months. On October 23rd, businessman Abdul Aziz Mohamed Dib was shot and killed inside the King Kabob restaurant located in the Farmer’s Market. At the time, a gunman walked into the establishment during the lunch hour and shot and killed Dib as he was seated inside the restaurant. King Kabob was owned by Agha but at the time of the killing he was in the kitchen preparing lunch. Speculation at the time was that he was actually the target but Dib was mistakenly taken for him.

One day after Dib’s murder, on October 24th, wealthy businessman Alfred Shackron was executed as he made his way out of the Body 2000 gym located on Coney Drive. As he exited the gym and was making his way into his vehicle, he was approached by men who spoke to him in his language shortly after which he was shot and killed.

Police have not yet made any arrest on any of the murders.
