RudyA man was stabbed whilst at a local bar named Carmita’s Bar also known as “Bucket Bar”, located at the foot of the Swing Bridge, and police have charged 29-year-old Rudy Faber for attempted murder.

Faber, a resident of Biscayne Village, appeared unrepresented before Chief Magistrate, Anne Marie Smith to be read one count of attempted murder and one count of  the used of deadly means of harm with a knife, upon Corrington Villanueva.

No plea was taken since the offenses are indictable and due to the nature of the offense, bail was denied. Faber was remanded to the Belize Central Prison until March 22nd.

According to a police report, on Monday, February 4th, 2013 about 6:30 p.m., they visited the K.H.M.H. where they saw, Corrington Villanueva, 32, a Belizean Laborer,  suffering from a single stab wound to the left side of his abdomen.

Police initial investigation revealed that about 5:00 pm on the same day, Villanueva was socializing at Carmita’s Bar, located on Regent Street West, Belize City when Rudy Faber approached him and inflicted the injury with a knife. The motive for the stabbing is not yet ascertain.
