San Narciso FajinaOn Saturday, March 9th, a group of about 50 villagers took the bold decision of cleaning the central burial ground as a sign of respect and love for their dead relatives and friends. The group was led by aspiring chairman for the upcoming village council elections, Emair ‘Buggy’ Correa along with his six councillors to be.

The work (Fajina) started early in the morning and continued through late in the evening. Men, young and old, did the chopping, while the women and young ladies raked and helped in disposing the grass and other materials. After the cleaning the tombs were cleaned and painted.

It was a day of work as well as a day for showing respect for those who have passed on. The organizing group was pleased with the work accomplished at the end of the day. They would like to extend sincere gratitude to all those that came out to help. To the people that contributed in one way or the other, a big thank you, too.  San Narciso showing one more time that villagers do care for the welfare of the community and they can be inspired to do so through good leadership.
