Party Chairman, Alberto August addressing the gatheringBELMOPAN, Cayo, Tuesday, 12th March 2013:
The Omega Restaurant in Belmopan was the venue for a meeting and social interaction with our re-elected Deputy Leader, Hon. Gaspar Vega and new Chairman, Alberto August.

All 40 delegates from Belmopan and Cayo South constituencies along with Area Representative, Hon. John Saldivar and Caretaker Representative, Ismael “Miley” Garcia were in attendance.

The main purpose of the meeting was to afford our Deputy Leader and Chairman the opportunity to thank the delegates for supporting the Unity Team in the February 17th, inter-party convention and to highlight the importance of unity, hard work and dedication to the cause of securing victory for the party in the vast majority of villages across the nation.

In thanking leaders and the team for their support, Chairman August informed that while the Opposition was hoping for the convention to cause division within our Party, they were left woefully disappointed as our Party emerged even stronger and united, always mindful of the fact that the Opposition is certainly not from within the Party. Chairman August, likewise, took the opportunity to update delegates on the latest developments within the party while thanking Minister Saldivar for the commitment to assist in the upcoming Village Council elections both in Cayo South and in Stann Creek West.

For his part Deputy Leader, Hon. Gaspar Vega also thanked both Minister Saldivar and Miley Garcia and their teams for supporting the Unity Team in the February 17th convention. “Now that the convention is over”, said DL Vega, “we must come together as one strong and united Party to secure victories at the polls and to make history by being the first political party to have won three consecutive general elections after independence.” DL Vega committed to keep in touch with the people across the country by convening meetings countrywide annually.
