Leon HumesPolice are investigating the shooting death of 23-year-old construction worker, Leon Humes who was shot to the head sometime around 11:25 p.m. on Friday, March 15th.

According to reports Humes had gone to Fay-Way Store, located on Mahogany Street, to buy something to eat when a masked gunman approached him from the nearby Jasmine Street and shot him to the face. The bullet entered his left cheek and exited on the right side of the head. He died at around 2:20 on Saturday morning while undergoing medical attention at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital.

Family members are at a loss as to why Humes was killed and say they have no motive for him to have been killed. They report that he was a fun-loving person, who was known to be a ladies man but did not involve himself in problems.

Police have not yet made any arrests in this murder.
