Giovanni Choto is the first rider to cross the line in 2012The 85th Annual Holy Saturday Cross Country Cycling Classic is scheduled for Saturday, March 30th, 2013. The race is organised by the Belize Cycling Association and is held under the regulations of the International Cycling Union.

The race will start at the Old August Meat Shop, Mile 1 ½ George Price Highway, Belize City at 6:30 travel to San Ignacio Town around Columbus Park and return to finish in front of the Memorial Park on Marine Parade in Belize City for a total distance of 142.2 miles.

The event is open to athletes of the Under 23, Elite and Masters Males categories. The event is also classified as a class HC event.

The race is open to a minimum of (4) and maximum of 10 riders per team. Riders born 1994 and before will be allowed to participate. Registration for this event is $75.00 and $30.00 for Race Radio.

The National Anti-Doping Organisation’s regulations are entirely applicable to the event. The Anti-Doping Tests (5) 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places are mandatory with two (2) Random Selections will take place at the Radisson Fort George Hotel.

The Technical Meeting in connection with the 85th Annual Holy Saturday Cross Country Cycling Classic is scheduled for Thursday, March 28th, 2013, at the Radisson Fort George and Marina, Santa Rita Room, Fort Street Belize City. Only team managers will be allowed to attend this meeting. Verification of documents will be held from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

The annual parade of cyclists will be held on Thursday, March 28th, commencing at 4:30 pm at the Court House Plaza. The route of the parade will includes the following Regent Street, Albert Street, Albert Street (West), Yarborough Road, Central American Blvd (entire length), over Belcan Bridge, Round-A-Bout, Princess Margaret Drive (entire length), Barrack Road, Marine Rarade and Memorial Park.
