Joel Dara RobinsonJoel Dara Robinson will once again hold his annual Ride for Hunger on Saturday August 3rd and the Tribute to Lucky Dube on Sunday, August 4th.

Dara visited our offices to explain that the ride, which is in its second year, is one of his main fundraising activities, which he conducts to be able to feed underprivileged children in primary schools. The ride will take off from Mile 2 1/2 on the Phillip Goldson Highway in front of the Smart building and will make its way to the Burrell Boom Road. From there, it will head to Hattieville village and return back to Belize City and end where it took off from. Dara says the ride is aimed at fundraising as well as raising awareness to the fact that there are children in primary school, who go hungry because their parents cannot afford to feed them.  He is inviting everybody to attend the ride especially business houses and emphasizes that it is a ride and not a race and anyone can participate. This year, he says he will add music to accompany the ride to motivate riders to complete the course. Registration starts at 5 on Saturday, August 3rd and the ride gets off at 6:30 a.m. registration is $5.00

After the ride, Dara says he will he having the 6th annual Tribute to Lucky Dube which will take place at the MCC Tennis Court on Sunday, August 4th. Entrance to the event will be $5.00 and there will also be a barrel placed at the gate for those who attend to bring in non-perishable foodstuff to donate to the feeding of children. All the proceeds of both events will be used for Dara's feeding programs, which he conducts throughout the school year.
