Garfield Flowers and Kenroy Vanzie34-year-old Garfield Flowers of #9 Johnson Street and 31-year-old Kenroy Vanzie of #63 Central American Boulevard appeared in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court on Monday, August 19th, to answer to a charge of burglary. They are two of three men who allegedly entered the business place of Muriel Jones on Poinsetta Street around 4:30 a.m. on Friday, August 16th, and ordered breakfast. One of the men then turned to another customer in the shop, Lincoln Hamilton, and demanded money. He punched Hamilton in the face and the trio rushed from the area. The incident was reported to police, and Flowers and Vanzie, whose faces are familiar to Jones, were later arrested.

In court on Monday, the men pleaded not guilty to the charge. Vanzie was offered bail in the sum of $2,000 plus one surety of the same amount. Bail was not offered to Flowers because he owes court $1,500 for a previous conviction. He must pay his previous fine before bail could be considered.
