Edward Neal Charged for Stealing Car Battery Print E-mail

Edward NealBelize City Electrician, 34-year-old , Edward Neal, is out on bail after he was arrested for allegedly stealing a car battery from Errol Garbutt’s car on Wednesday, August 14th.

Garbutt reported to police that sometime around 11 p.m. that night he parked his grey Chevy Tracker in front of his cousin’s house at #3607 North Creek. He went to sleep and was alerted around 4:10 the next morning that someone was messing with his vehicle. He went to check the vehicle and noticed that his vehicle battery, valued at $300, was missing. He reported the matter to police requesting court action. Police investigation led to the arrest and charge of Edward Neal.

Neal appeared before Magistrate Hettie Mae Stuart on Tuesday, August 20th, to answer to a charge of theft. He pleaded not guilty to the offense and was granted bail in the sum of $900 plus one surety of the same amount. Neal must also stay away from Garbutt, his family members and the prosecution’s witnesses or his bail will be revoked. He is due back in court on September 24th.
