San Pedro Tiger Sharks rebounds after an unexpected loss Print E-mail

The Elite Basketball League third week of competition continued over the last weekend with four games across the country.

On Saturday February 22, 2014, three games were played at various facilities in the district towns. At the San Pedro High School, the host team the San Pedro Tiger Sharks rebounded with an impressive victory over the Corozal Heats by the score of 79-54 after losing the week before to the Toledo Diplomats at the PG Sports Complex.

The top scorers for the San Pedro Tiger Sharks were Winston Pratt with 20 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists and 3 steals, Ashton Edwards with 18 points, 1 assist and 3 steals and Darwin Leslie with 14 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 steal. For the visiting Corozal Heats, their top scorers were Jason Daly with 11 points, 2 rebounds and 3 assists, Geovannie Lennan with 10 points, 7 rebounds, 1 assist and 5 steals, and Jason Grant with 10 points, 13 rebounds and 1 steal.

Out at the Sacred Heart College Auditorium in San Ignacio Town, the Cayo Western Ballaz defeated the  Dangriga Warriors by the score of  63-52. The top scorers for the Cayo Western Ballaz were Farron Louriano with 17 points, 13 rebounds and 2 steals, Ivan Flowers with 13 points, 2 rebounds, 2 assists and 3 steals, and Richard Troyer with 12 points, 8 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 steal. Meanwhile, the top scorers for the Dangriga Warriors were Gary Francisco with 13 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals, and Trevaughn Usher with 12 points, 3 rebounds and 4 steals.

And at the UB Gymnasium in the City of Belmopan the home team the Belmopan Bandits defeated the visiting Toledo Diplomats by the score of 76-64.

On Friday February 21, at the Bird’s Isle in Belize City, the Belize City (Smart) No Limit defeated the visiting Orange Walk Running Rebels by the score of 83-59. The top scorers for the “No Limit” were Akeem Trapp with 16 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists and 5 steals, Brian White with 15 points, 14 rebounds, 1 assist and 2 steals and Gregory Rudon with 14 points, 9 rebounds, 7 assists and 2 steals. For the Orange Walk Running Rebels, the top scorers were Randy Usher with 16 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists and4 steals, and Omar Tesecum with 12 points and 6 rebounds.
