Gwen Lizarraga girls and Nazarene High boys are Central Region High Schools softball champs Print E-mail

The 2013-2014 Central Region Secondary Schools Softball Competition came to an end on Tuesday March 11, 2014 in both the female and male competitions at Rogers Stadium.

In the female competition, Gwen Lizarraga High School the number three seed defeated Ladyville Technical High School the number two seed by the score of 5-3. The winning pitcher was Ashley Lucas and the losing pitcher was Amber Wade.

In the male competition, Nazarene High School the number one seed edged out St. John’s College the number two seed by the score of 7-6 to capture the Central Region Secondary Schools Softball Title. The winning pitcher was Jerome Carr and the losing pitcher was Dylan Snaggs.

On Thursday March 6, in the female game played, Gwen Lizarraga High School eliminated the Nazarene High School the number one seed by the score of 8-3. The winning pitcher was Ashley Lucas and the losing pitcher was Elma Wade.

And in the male game played, St. John’s College eliminated Wesley College the number three seed by the score of 11-4. The winning pitcher was Dylan Snaggs and the losing pitcher was Keron Young.

Gwen Lizarraga High School girls and Nazarene High School boys will represent the Central Region at the National Secondary Schools Sports Association’s National Softball Competition scheduled for March 14-15, 2014.
