Members of the San Ignacio Police are currently looking for Gabino Garnett Jr., a man most familiar to them, who they believe can assist them in their investigation for a murder which occurred in the early hours of Friday of last week.  Sometime around 12:30 am last Friday, San Ignacio Police received a report of a male person that had allegedly been stabbed and as a result had been taken to the San Ignacio Hospital on Bullet Tree Road. Upon arrival at the Hospital, Police noted that the dark complexion male person had received stab wounds to the left side of his chest and a cut wound to the left hand, left under arm and right thigh. The male person was later identified to be 20-year-old Stann Creek resident, Earl Baizer, who succumbed to his injuries at about 12:50 am that same morning while undergoing treatment at the San Ignacio Hospital.

Earl Baizar was socializing at the popular Blue Angel’s Night Club in central San Ignacio when an argument erupted with a male person. The quarrelling members were taken out of the establishment to Hudson Street and that is when Earl Baizer was stabbed by a male person riding a 4 wheeler ATV.

Police were informed that Gabino Garnett Jr. was the person riding the ATV. He was located on Joseph Andrews Drive, but abandoned the ATV and is now on the run.

Police have been making attempts to contact Gabino Garnett’s family members but that has been fruitless.

As of Tuesday of this week, a post mortem had still not been conducted on the body Earl Baizer although arrangements are now being made to do so.

In a similar incident a week earlier, San Ignacio Police had visited the San Ignacio Hospital where they saw 24 year old Alfredo David Novelo of Bishop Martin Street in Santa Elena Town suffering from a stab wound to the right side of the back. Police also observed 25 year old Richard Sanchez, Gas Attendant of New Area, Benque Viejo Town suffering from a stab wound to the left side of the chest. Preliminary investigations had revealed that while Novelo was standing in front of Blue Angels Night Club on Hudson Street in San Ignacio Town, he had gotten into an altercation with a group of young men. Upon witnessing the confrontation, Richard Sanchez had intervened and became injured as a result. Alfredo Novelo was later transported from the San Ignacio Hospital to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital where he was admitted in a critical condition.
