Eutychus Nunez,19, of #6060 Mahogany Street in Belize City is serving a seven year sentence after he pleaded guilty to the robbery of a bicycle and harm upon its owner.

Allegations are that at about 3:45 p.m. on Thursday, March 6, 2014, a 17-year-old student was riding his bicycle on Princess Margaret Drive when he was approached by two males on separate bicycles. According to the minor, the two men rode next to him and one of them asked him for a dollar. When he refused one of the men punched him in the face and he fell off the bike. The other man picked up the bicycle and they rode off with it. The minor immediately reported the robbery to police and an investigation led police to arrest Eutychus Nunez who was found in possession of the minor’s bicycle. Nunez was arrested and charged with robbery and harm after the minor pointed him out to police as one of the two men who attacked him.

Nunez pleaded guilty to the charges. Senior Magistrate Sharon Fraser imposed a 6 years jail term for the robbery and added an additional 1 year for harm. She ordered that both jail terms run consecutively; therefore, Nunez will serve 7 years.
