The 2014 National Elite Basketball League competition continued over the last week with four games on the schedule.

On Thursday March 20, at the UB Gymnasium in the City of Belmopan, the visiting and current-co-leaders in this year’s competition the Cayo Western Ballaz defeated the home team the Belmopan Bandits by the score of 58-46.

The top scorers for the Cayo Western Ballaz were Richard Troyer with 16 points, 14 rebounds, 2 assists and a steal, Kurt Burgess with 11 points, 16 rebounds, 2 assists and a steal and Farron Louriano with 10 points and 11 rebounds. Meanwhile, the top scorers for the Belmopan Bandits were Dorian Jones and Christian Rodriguez with 9 points each. Dorian Jones also pulled down 7 rebounds and had 3 steals in his team defeat, while Jamal Harris with 7 points, 5 rebounds, and 1 steal.

At the Y-Not Island in Dangriga Town, the Belize City No Limit team won handily over the Dangriga Warriors by the score of 66-53. The top scorers for the Belize City No Limit team were Gregory Rudon with 23 points, 4 rebounds, 1, assist and 2 steals; Andrew Ortiz with 13 points, and 6 rebounds, and Kevin Lorenzo with 8 points.

For the Dangriga Warriors, the top scorers were Jamir Reyes with 16 points, and Gary Francisco with 8 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 assists.

The competition then continued on Saturday night March 22, 2014. At the Orange Walk Multi-Purpose Complex in Orange Walk Town, the San Pedro Tigersharks defeated the Orange Walk Running Rebels by the score of 73-60. The top scorers for the visiting San Pedro Tigersharks were Michael Adams with 17 points, and 18 rebounds, Jamal Kelly with 16 points, Winston Pratt with 15 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist and a steal and Darwin Leslie with 12 points, 13 rebounds, 3 assists and a steal.

Meanwhile, the top scorers for the Orange Walk Running Rebels were Randy Usher with 21 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals, and Omar Tesecum with 12 points and 4 rebounds.

And at the Andres Campus Civic Centre in Corozal Town, the visiting Toledo Diplomats edged the home team the Corozal Heats by the score of 88-86. The top scorers for the visiting Toledo Diplomats were Elbert Ariola who top scored with 24 points,8 rebounds, and 2 steals, Ray Arzu who contributed 21 points, 2 rebounds, and Daniel Valerio who scored 16 points, 5 rebounds and a steal. Meanwhile, the top scorers for the Corozal Heats were Jason Grant with 22 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists and 4 steals, Geovannie Lennan with 18 points, 13 rebounds, 2 assists and 3 steals, and Sheldon Williams who contributed 14 points, had 4 rebounds and dished out 2 assists  in a heart break loss.
