Belize Elementary girls and Chan Pine Ridge boys are National Primary Schools Volleyball champions Print E-mail

volleyball.jpg - 46.69 KbThe National Primary Schools Volleyball championship came to an end on Friday, June 6, 2014, at Bird’s Isle.

In the girls’ championship game, Belize Elementary School representing the Belize District defeated Holy Angles Roman Catholic from the Stann Creek Valley by the score of 25-12 and 28-26 to capture its first National Primary Schools Volleyball Title.

In the third place game, Louisiana Government School representing the Orange Walk District eliminated Blue Creek representing the Toledo District by the score of 20-25, 25-23 and 15-10 to take the Bronze medal.

In the first game in the semi-final round, Belize Elementary School defeated Louisiana Government School in two sets by the score of 25-10 and 25-5. In the second game, Holy Angels defeated Blue Creek in two sets by the score of 25-18 and 25-11.

In the first game of the girls’ championship played earlier in the day, Belize Elementary School defeated Our Lady of Guadalupe Roman Catholic School representing the Corozal District  by the score of 25-2and25-4. In the second game, Louisiana Government School defeated Garden City Primary from Belmopan representing the Cayo District by the score of 25-15 and 25-23.

In game three, Blue Creek Primary defeated Our Lady of Guadalupe by the score of 25-8 and 25-10. In game four, Holy Angels Roman Catholic defeated Garden City Primary by the score of 25-10 and 25-7.

In game five, Belize Elementary School defeated Blue Creek by the score of25-11 and 25-12. In the final game of the first round, Holy Angels defeated Louisiana Government School by the score of 25-16 and 25-12.

At the end of the girls’ championship game, Allyana Musa of Belize Elementary School was named the Most Valuable Player.

In the boys’ championship game, Chan Pine Ridge representing the Orange Walk District defeated Howard Smith Nazarene representing the Cayo District by the score of 25-14, 20-25 and 15-12.

In the third place game, Corozal Methodist School from Corozal Town eliminated  Aguacate Roman Catholic School representing the Toledo District by the score of 25-22 and 25-23.

In the first game in the boys’ semi-final round, Howard Smith Nazarene defeated Aguacate Roman Catholic School in three sets by the score of 25-8, 21-25 and 15-10.

In game two, Chan Pine Ridge defeated Corozal Methodist in three sets by the score of 25-19, 12-25and 15-8.

In the first game of the male championship played at the YWCA Court on St. Thomas Street, Corozal Methodist defeated Belize Elementary School representing the Belize District by the score of 25-21and 25-14. In the second game of the day, Chan Pine Ridge defeated Howard Smith Nazarene by the score of 25-20 and 25-16.

In game three, Aguacate Roman Catholic School defeated Corozal Methodist School in three sets by the score of 25-19, 20-25 and 15-12. In game four, Howard Smith Nazarene defeated Sacred Heart Primary School from Dangriga Town by the score of 25-17 and 25-13.

In game five, Aguacate Roman Catholic defeated Belize Elementary School in two sets by the score of 25-17 and 25-12. And in the final game of the regular round, Chan Pine Ridge defeated Sacred Heart Primary School in three sets by the score of 25-14, 18-25 and 15-7.

The Most Valuable Player Award went to Nayim Reyes of Chan Pine Ridge.

We say congratulations to the champions of the National Primary School Volleyball Championship and to all the student-athletes that participated in the championship.
