Tevin Palmer, 18, is in jail after he was remanded to the Belize Central Prison for the attempted murder of Shawn Fisher.

Allegations are that on Saturday, July 5, Palmer approached Fisher in front of Kick Down Fence fried chicken shop on Dean Street and opened fire at him. Fisher was shot once to the left side of his abdomen and once to his left buttocks. He was rushed to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital for treatment. Police arrested Palmer on Friday, July 11, and he was taken to the Belize City Magistrate’s Court on Monday, July 14.

Palmer was unrepresented when he appeared before Senior Magistrate Sharon Frazer. He was read three charges: one count of attempted murder, one count of wounding and one count of use of deadly means of harm upon Shawn Fisher. No plea was taken since the matter will be tried at the Supreme Court. Due to the nature of the offenses, bail was denied. Palmer will be remanded at the Belize Central Prison until his next scheduled court appearance on August 29.
