The International Zone of the Commonwealth Games Village in Glasgow, Scotland was the centre stage for the raising of the Belizean Flag during the team’s Official Welcome Ceremony to the XX Commonwealth Games.

During the short but impressive ceremony that included the raising of the Belizean Flag, the playing of the National Anthem of Belize and the exchanging of gifts between the Chef-de-Mission of Belize and the Lord Provost of the City of Dundee, Scotland, the Belizean Team along with its Commonwealth Games Assistants were treated to a cultural performance by the National Youth Theater of the United Kingdom.

Team Belize was also joined by the Teams from Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, Dominica and the Seychelles who all took part in the Welcome Ceremony.

The Team’s Welcome Ceremony is the official recognition that, in the case of Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, the Commonwealth of Dominica, the Seychelles and Belize all have met the requirements for entrance to the Commonwealth Games Village and the Commonwealth Games itself.
