Progresso FC takes over lead in President’s Cup Tournament Print E-mail

The FFB President’s Cup Tournament continued over the week with three more games on its schedule.

On Sunday July, 20, at the Carl Ramos Stadium in Dangriga Town, the visiting Sagitun FC edged the host team Pomona United by the score of 2-1. The goals for Sagitun FC were scored by Darren Thompson in the 2nd minute of play and Rollin Burgess in the 65th minute of play.

Meanwhile, the goal for Pomona United was scored by Jevon Aranda in the 60th minute of play.

At the Isidoro Beaton Stadium in the City of Belmopan, Roaring Creek United defeated Estrellas FC by the score of 4-2. The goals for Roaring Creek United were scored by Kenny Williams in the 11th minute of play, Alden Coleman in the 35th minute of play via a penalty kick, Alexander Watson in the 40th minute of play and Orin Reneau in the 83rd minute of play via a Penalty Kick.

For the Estrellas FC the goals were scored by Ernest Lambey in the 6th minute of play and Christopher Burke in the 42nd minute of play.

And in the final game of the day, Progresso FC, the new leaders in the competition edged the Belize District Stars by the score of 2-1. The goals for Progresso FC were scored by Eliazar Itza in the 20th minute of play and Alexander Diaz in the 75th minute of play.

Meanwhile, the only goal of the game for the host team the Belize District Stars was scored by Delroy Andrews in the 12th minute of play.

The competition will continue this coming weekend with four more games on the schedule. On Saturday, July 26, at the Michael Ashcroft Stadium in Independence Village at 7:30 pm, Benque DC United will see action against Sagitun FC.

And then on Sunday July 27, at the Louisiana Football Field at 3:30 pm, Progresso FC will go up against Roaring Creek United. At the Ladyville Field at 4:00 pm it will be Belize District Stars against the visiting Pomona United and in the final game of the day also at 4:00 pm out at the Toledo Union Field, it will be San Antonio FC against the Estrellas FC.
