Drilling Equipment Arrives in Sunday Wood Village Print E-mail

US Capital Energy Belize Ltd. has announced that drilling is expected to begin within a month at the Temash 2 drill site near Sunday Wood Village in the Toledo District. On Wednesday, July 23, the company trucked in the first eight truckloads of rig equipment through the northern border with Mexico.

The materials have arrived at the site and technicians are standing by to proceed with assembling the rig. Dr. Mike Tewes, the company’s health, safety and environment manager, is on the ground ensuring that the high standards set by the company will be adhered to by all technicians in assembling the rig.

US Capital’s management team met and held discussions with the Toledo Alcalde Association Leadership (TAA) addressing issues and concerns they had. After a tour of the drill site and a full explanation of the efforts being made to mitigate all environmental concerns, it was amicably agreed that subsequent meetings will be held as is necessary to inform the leaders on activities as they progress at the drill site.

It is expected that drilling should commence around the 15th of August. Dr. Tewes further stated that for safety reasons the public is advised that only approved visits will be entertained. The public is further advised that as of now the premises will be properly secured and unauthorized entry will be handled by the relevant authority.
U S Capital Energy Belize Ltd. will be hosting a press conference at a date to be announced when the public will be updated on work that has been done an dwill be done in the next two to three months.
