San Antonio FC maintains lead in FFB President’s Cup Print E-mail

The Football Federation of Belize President’s Cup Tourney continued over the weekend with a number of games across the country in week 10 of the ongoing competition.

On Saturday July 10, at the Michael Ashcroft Stadium in Independence Village, the visiting Benque DC United and Sagitun played to a 1-1 draw. The goal for Benque FC was scored by Danilo Escobar in the 90th minute of play, while the goal for Sagitun was scored by Ashley Torres also in the 90th minute of play.

On Sunday July 27, 2014, there were three games on the schedule. At the People’s Stadium in Orange Walk Town, Roaring Creek United defeated Progresso FC by the score of 3-1. The goals for Roaring Creek United were scored by Kennery Williams in the 84th and 90th minute of play. For the Progresso FC squad, the goal was scored by Marlon Miranda in the 58th minute of play.

Out at the Toledo Union Field in Punta Gorda Town, the league’s leading San Antonio FC blasted Estrellas FC by the score of 8-1. The goals for the San Antonio FC were scored by Russell Cassanova in the 11th, 24th, 56th, 79th and 90+ minutes of the game. He was assisted by Ian Daniels in the 32nd and 58th minutes of play, Alexander Innis in the 52nd minutes of play and Johan Clavel in the 67th minute of play.

Meanwhile, the goals for Estrellas FC were scored by Aduan Usher in the 4th and 22nd minutes of play.

And in the final game of the day that was scheduled to be played at the Ladyville Football Field, the Belize District Stars won over Pomona United via the default route. The score stood at 3-0 in favour of the Belize District Stars.
