The National Elite Basketball League (NEBL) will be tipping off its sixth annual basketball tournament on Friday, January 18, 2019.

The opening game will be held at the Belize City Civic Centre and will feature the rematch of last season’s semi-finals series, as defending champions, Belize Hurricanes will host Griga Dream Ballers.  Tip-off is at set for 9:00 p.m. The game will be aired live on The National Channel (TNC), starting with a pre-game show at 8:30 p.m.

The seven participating teams in the upcoming season are Orange Walk Running Rebels, San Pedro Tiger Sharks, Belize Hurricanes, Belmopan Bandits, Griga Dream Ballers, Belize City Defenders and Verdes.

Then on Saturday, January 19, 2019,  the San Pedro Tiger Sharks will travel up north to take on the Orange Walk Running Rebels at the Orange Walk Multi- Purpose Complex while on the same night, sub-champions, Belize City Defenders will head out west to take on Verdes at the Sacred Heart College Auditorium.

The National Elite Basketball League (NEBL) anticipates another spectacular season as we witness “basketball at its best”.

 
Hon. Dr. Angel Campos Libertad Christmas Cup opens Print E-mail

The 2018 Hon. Dr. Angel Campos Libertad Christmas Cup opened on Sunday 4th November. The Christmas Cup Tournament will see the participation on 10 teams. The teams are Backa Town (Libertad), Uprising (Libertad), Nihzee FC, Xaibe FC, Calcutta Young Starz, Santa Clara Sporting, Santa Clara Strikers, Louisville FC, Progresso Juniors and Coast Guard FC.

In the first game of the day, Nihzee FC defeated Santa Clara Sporting FC by the score of 3-0.

In game two, Calcutta Young Starz over Xaibe FC by the score of 2-0.

And in the final game of the day, Coast Guard FC won over Progresso Juniors by the score of 2-0.

The competition will continue this coming weekend.
